FAQ

Common Questions.
Direct answers.

The most frequently asked questions about the Big Flare-Up Theory, answered directly and without evasion.

Does BFUT deny the observations that support the Big Bang?

No. BFUT does not dispute any observation. The CMB temperature, light element ratios, acoustic peaks, galaxy distribution, and JWST data are all real observations. BFUT disputes only the interpretation that these observations require a singular universal origin event. Every observation attributed to the Big Bang is consistent with a local flare-up event in our region of the infinite universe at approximately the attributed time.

What is the Spaticle field?

General relativity proves that space warps, stretches, and transmits gravitational waves. A geometric abstraction cannot do any of these things. Space must therefore be composed of something physical. BFUT designates that physical substrate the Spaticle field. This is independently supported by Loop Quantum Gravity, which proposes that space-time is composed of discrete quantised units at the Planck scale, and by the confirmed Higgs field, which establishes beyond doubt that space is permeated by a physical field that interacts with matter.

Has any BFUT prediction been confirmed?

Yes. Prediction 5 states that the Hubble constant measured by local methods will trend downward as measurement precision improves. Wagner, Benisty and Karachentsev (2026) reported H₀ = 63 ± 6 km/s/Mpc using galaxy group dynamics — lower than both the Planck value (68) and the Cepheid value (73 km/s/Mpc). Three independent methodologies, three distinct values, directional trend confirmed at the time of the paper's submission.

Where is the research paper?

The full 23,745-word paper is published on Zenodo with a permanent DOI. It is freely available at doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.19149786. An arXiv endorsement is being sought from researchers in the field.

Who developed this theory?

Vijay Shankar Sharma is an independent researcher with no formal training in any branch of science, working without institutional affiliation or external funding. He is a Chartered Accountant and MBA from the Indian School of Business. The theory was developed entirely from first principles over several years, beginning with logical analysis of foundational contradictions in the standard cosmological model.

Is BFUT related to the Steady State Theory?

BFUT shares with Hoyle's steady-state cosmology the proposal of an infinite eternal universe and continuous matter creation, but differs in three important ways: the mechanism for matter creation (quantum fluctuations in the Spaticle field rather than a continuous creation field), the mechanism for galactic recession (gravitational sorting rather than intrinsic expansion), and the Big Flare-Up itself — a singular, unrepeatable historical event that permanently changed the universe and explains why it looked different at high redshift. This last feature is the reason the quasar evolution evidence that falsified Hoyle's model is fully consistent with BFUT.
