Critics often assume the burden of proof lies almost entirely on the outsider theory.

That is not always true.

Once a challenger shows that the dominant framework may be overclaiming, using misleading teaching tools, blurring important distinctions, and leaning on unstable pillars, the burden starts shifting. The mainstream can no longer simply point to familiar observations and act as though the case is closed.

BFUT does exactly that.

It forces defenders of the standard model to justify more than they are used to justifying. They must justify scope, not just data. They must justify why the observable universe should stand for all reality. They must justify why the balloon remains pedagogically acceptable. They must justify why a moving H0 deserves the emotional tone of a constant. They must justify why rescue terms should increase rather than decrease confidence.

That is a major shift.

BFUT does not eliminate its own burden. It still must articulate mechanisms and continue refining details. But it also removes the old comfort in which mainstream cosmology could behave as though its biggest assumptions were no longer assumptions.

That is what strong challenges do.

They redistribute burden.

And once that happens, the debate becomes much more honest.
