The Big Bang is a brilliant cultural story.
That may be part of the problem.
It has everything the modern mind loves: a beginning, a dramatic event, a clean timeline, a scientific aura, a famous name, beautiful imagery, and the feeling that everything traces back to one sacred moment. It sounds like a triumph of rationality, but structurally it behaves a lot like myth, except with equations.
BFUT challenges that at the deepest level.
It asks whether the Big Bang’s dominance comes partly from being emotionally perfect, not just evidentially superior. A beginning is easier to tell than eternity. A single event is easier to package than distributed process. A dramatic origin is easier to popularize than a threshold crossing in an already existing universe.
That matters.
Because theories do not spread through data alone. They spread through narrative fitness. And the Big Bang has been extraordinarily fit as narrative. It offers an opening scene for reality. It flatters the human appetite for first moments. It makes the universe feel like a story with a first page.
BFUT is less theatrical and more physical. That is one reason it can sound radical at first. But once its structure is understood, dark accumulation, threshold crossing, distributed ignition, eternal background, local histories, gravitational sorting, it begins to feel more like how nature often behaves and less like how humans like to dramatize existence.
This is not an argument from aesthetics.
It is an argument about intellectual caution. When a theory becomes almost too narratively perfect, the wise response is not automatic trust. It is extra scrutiny.
BFUT supplies that scrutiny.
And once the scrutiny begins, the Big Bang starts looking less like an untouchable truth and more like a culturally powerful framework whose emotional success may have outpaced its physical humility.
